H:
Having spent our wedding night in a tent on the field, we thought we'd carry on in the same way in Ireland for a little minimoon (we are hoping to go to Africa in November for a real honeymoon, with a proper bed and everything). We weren't banking on so much rain that we'd get a puddle outside the tent door but never mind...
Mainly it only rained in the evenings so we made the most of the days. We drove around the south west coast, had a hot chocolate, went to Dursey island, had a hot chocolate, west to Killarney and had a hot chocolate.
Then we went for a potter, and ended up climbing Carrauntoohil, Ireland's tallest peak (1,038m), and something which I suspect G was planning all along. We then had a hot chocolate with a cake.
Then with mountain-sore legs (having not climbed a mountain for a year), we hired bikes, caught a boat across a couple of lakes. And cycles up to the Gap of Dunloe. Which is a steep cycle at the best of times, but we hooked up with two Aussy guys and my girl pride kicked in and I attempted to make it up at the same speed as they did. Hence extremely painful legs and another medicinal trip for a hot chocolate, plus cake, plus handmade chocolate. Mmmmmm...
